INTRO:
======
So you were the one who got angry all the time about needing old messages
that you killed just a week ago? Well, then ARC-IT will help you to live
your FIDO life more satisfied.
ARC-IT packs all messages that were written by you or "sysop" or that were
addressed to you or "sysop".
START:
======
It's that simple:
ARC-IT <e|n> [-ax] "SysopName" <msgbase> [<arcname>]
<msgbase> This is the filename of the messagebase ARC-IT will
proceed with. Do not give the extension of the filename!
The messagebase has to be in a TheBox compatible format
(this format is used by LED, ACS, ECU and many other
programs).
"SysopName" Your name. This information is used to find the
corresponding messages.
<e|n> One of these parameters has to be used! By these
parameters you tell ARC-IT wether you want to work with
an echomail area (e) or your netmail area (n). If you
chose "n" (netmail area), the "From:" and "To:" fields
are saved, too.
[-ax] "-a": Already archived messages will be archived once
more.
"-x": All messages (not only your own) will be archived.
<arcname> All messages are saved in the folder that holds the
messagebase. The file extension is *.ABK (Avalon Backup).
If you want to rename this file, you can do this by using
this optional parameter.
EXAMPLES:
=========
ARC_IT n "Stephan Slabihoud" E:\FIDO\MSGS\NETMAIL
- The netmail area is archived to a file named NETMAIL.ABK.
ARC_IT e "Stephan Slabihoud" E:\FIDO\MSGS\ATARI H:\BACKUP.TXT
- The echomail area ATARI.GER (the files of the messagebase are
ATARI.HDR and ATARI.MSG) is archived as H:\BACKUP.TXT.
ARC_IT e -a "Stephan Slabihoud" E:\FIDO\MSGS\ATARI
- ATARI.GER is archived, but now the already archived messages are
saved, too.
ARC_IT e -ax "doesn't matter" E:\FIDO\MSGS\ATARI
- Now all messages (also these ones that are not written by you and
also the messages that were already archived before) are saved.
INTERNA:
========
ARC-IT uses bit #1 (0x0002) of Unused[7] in the header file (*.HDR) to
recognize wether messages were already archived or not.
HISTORY:
=========
V1.00 - First official version
V1.01 - A little bit optimized
V1.10 - Optional parameter <arcname>
V1.20 - Now works with FastEcho
V1.21 - Problems with msgs>32kb fixed.
